SCHOOL CALENDAR

Assessments

We aim to provide educational resources for parents. WCNS sponsors various seminars addressing child-rearing issues. In addition, we encourage parents to borrow books related to early childhood from the bookshelves by the Killian Court entrance or take a current article from the bingers located in the office. We provide a variety of educational materials on this site. Additionally throughout the school year we provide a variety of formal communications about your child and the school in general:

Conferences

Three parent-teacher conferences are scheduled each year: one before the child's entrance into the school, one mid-year and one at the end of the year. At the end of the year parents will receive a portfolio of their child's work, as well as a written evaluation. Parents or teachers may request conferences at any other time. In addition, conferences may be scheduled with the Director at any time.

Classroom and School Newsletters

The school uses various forms of written communication to keep the parents informed of the activities in each classroom and at the school. Monthly your should expect to see:

The Nursery News.

The newsletter is published by the Board and contains articles related to:

  • early childhood development
  • family activities
  • upcoming school events.

Classroom newsletter

Each classroom produces a monthly newsletter to give families a larger "snapshot" of your child's daily activities in the classroom. A monthly newsletter is also emailed to your home if you wish.

School wide email

The school also uses email to notify families of upcoming school events and to send classroom information home.
